Community Nutrition Fund

Fueling Our Youth Through Community Support

Meals for Athletes. Built by the Community

The Chef Merder Community Nutrition Fund provides nutritious meals to youth athletes at no cost, supported by voluntary community contributions that help build a fully licensed, legal, and sustainable nutrition program.

What Is the Community Nutrition Fund?

The Chef Merder Community Nutrition Fund is a community-supported initiative created to ensure youth athletes have access to consistent, nourishing meals—regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

Meals are provided free of charge to athletes during offseason training and youth programs. Families and supporters who wish to help sustain and grow this effort may choose to make a voluntary contribution.

These contributions are not payments for meals. They exist to help build the legal, licensed infrastructure required to continue serving youth safely, responsibly, and at a larger scale.

How It Works

1. Athletes Eat Free
Meals are prepared and served to youth athletes at no cost.

2. Parents & Supporters May Contribute
Families who wish to support the program can make a voluntary donation. There is no required amount.

3. Contributions Build the Infrastructure
Funds are reinvested into:

  • Food permits & licenses

  • Insurance & certifications

  • Equipment & proper storage

  • Compliance with health regulations

4. Program Expands Sustainably
This model allows free meals to continue while building a fully legal operation capable of serving more kids, more programs, and more communities.

Why This Matters?

Youth nutrition programs often disappear because they rely on unpaid labor or unsustainable funding models.

This initiative is different.

By pairing free meals for athletes with community-supported funding, we create a system that:

  • Keeps food accessible to all athletes

  • Protects families and organizers legally

  • Meets food safety standards

  • Allows the program to grow instead of burn out

Your support helps move this program from grassroots effort to long-term community resource.

Where Contributions Go

Transparency matters. Voluntary contributions are used exclusively to support the operational and legal foundation of this program, including:

  • Food safety permits and licenses

  • Liability insurance

  • Required certifications

  • Commercial-grade equipment

  • Storage and handling compliance

This ensures meals are prepared responsibly and the program can continue without interruption.
